Summer Kalani Howard is a Baltimore based photographer and designer. They studied at the Maryland Institute College of Arts and received a B.F.A. in May 2018 with a studio concentration in Photography and Book Arts. After being awarded the Janis Meyer Travelling Fellowship, Howard spent the summer of 2018 making art in Tokyo, Japan. Upon returning to Baltimore they were offered to come back to the Maryland Institute College of Arts to work in student affairs while they curated a solo show for their series Liminal Love. Howard’s conceptual projects include a glance at technology and how it’s impacted the human identity. Their style is easily identified by their choice to use vibrant colors.
